I don’t have a particularly severe pollen allergy.
I just sneeze or get a runny nose—nothing beyond that.
Furthermore, if I wear a mask, it’s virtually a non-issue.
"Echwi! Kheu-eung!"
Fortunately, the pollen in the Forest of the Four Seasons was similar.
It was just concentrated enough to rival the yellow dust from China rather than Korea, but the symptoms themselves were no different.
So, wearing the face cover that Praise the Sun had gifted me as a mask substitute made it much better.
Though there was nothing I could do about the pollen I had already inhaled.
’How do beasts endure an environment like this?’
I looked back and forth between Speed Sloth and Wonmo.
Speed Sloth was tossing firewood into the fireplace, and Wonmo was looking at me with wide, round eyes.
How on earth did those two adapt to this crappy environment? I was a little curious.
’Whatever else happens, a shelter is an absolute necessity.’
It wasn’t a choice, but an essential requirement for survival.
If I hadn’t secured this cave, I probably would have been swept away and killed by disasters.
It would be wise to look for shelters along the way to avoid disasters while exploring.
’The pollen... has subsided a bit too.’
The yellow haze of pollen had mostly diminished as well.
It seemed that with the arrival of spring, flowers had bloomed all at once, causing pollen to swirl violently.
I knew pollen was usually bad around April or May back home, but the Forest of the Four Seasons didn’t care about any of that.
When spring arrived here, it was just like, "Woohoo, spring’s here!" and everything bloomed together all at once.
’The problem is that it explodes all at once.’
I stepped outside while wearing my face cover.
My nose was itchy, but not to the point of triggering a sneeze. My runny nose, however, was unavoidable.
Thinking I should wash the mask thoroughly later, I geared up. For now, my plan was to fetch some gravel.
I brought Speed Sloth and Wonmo along for the first time in a while. Those guys seemed perfectly fine despite the pollen.
"Puchwi!"
Or not. Maybe he was just holding it in.
Seeing Wonmo sneeze, it seemed to just be a matter of individual differences.
Since it was a pollen ’allergy’ to begin with, having it vs. not having it made a world of difference.
Soon, as I went up to the river, I could see that it was still frozen over.
Underneath, the ice must have melted because the current was flowing fiercely.
’I can start setting fish traps again soon.’
From now on, I planned to set two fish traps instead of just one.
Having experienced how quickly winter arrived, I needed far more smoked food.
’Do frogs hibernate, too?’
I gathered gravel into a sack bit by bit while keeping an eye on my surroundings.
Because a frog or something else might pop out.
Fortunately, perhaps because spring had only just begun, not a single animal was in sight.
Having loaded up a sack full of gravel, I returned to the cave. All that was left was to scatter this on the ground and tamp it down.
’Why the hell is this mud so sticky?’
However, given the size of the yard, I had no choice but to make several round trips.
It hadn’t been this bad even when it rained for the first time, but winter had turned it into this state.
Partly because the ground had frozen solid, but the snow had likely been the decisive factor.
Even though I had sprinkled salt periodically, I couldn’t stop the ground from freezing.
’The ground is done, so should I start building?’
It was time to rebuild the oven and furnace that had been swept away by the avalanche.
I intended to build them sturdy so they could withstand future disasters firmly.
’To anchor them securely, I should dig up the ground a bit.’
I dug into the ground and laid down bricks underneath first.
Then, I stacked bricks neatly just like I had done before.
I even spread mortar mixed from sand and cement between them.
Finally, checking the size by sliding the tray in and out finished it off.
The preparation took time, but the construction itself didn’t take long since I had already built one before.
’Just in case, let’s erect a brick wall behind it.’
Learning from the experience of the avalanche coming from behind the cave, I built it right up against the cave wall.
However, I couldn’t rest easy with just that, so I decided to erect a solid wall behind the oven.
It would be better than having it collapse and having to rebuild it every time a disaster struck.
’Hmm... Will this work?’
Yet somehow, instead of a simple wall, I ended up building an entire barricade.
A wall standing as if wrapping around the entire oven. Its thickness was also extraordinary. The source of this chapter is novelping.com.
I wondered if I had overinvested, but since I had already built it, there was no helping it.
’Now all that’s left is the furnace.’
I built the furnace right up against the cave wall as well.
I didn’t forget to build a wall around it just like the oven.
Since I meticulously slathered cement on it, it wouldn’t collapse pointlessly.
’Mm. Perfect.’
With the cave in the center, the oven and furnace were placed on either side.
I left the side areas clear so I could carry out future expansion work(?).
With a satisfied expression, I took a picture of the cave’s front view and posted it on the Gallery.
Title) Restored It All

As of today, winter in the Forest of the Four Seasons is over and spring has arrived.
As soon as spring came, I restored everything that was swept away by the avalanche.
Now I have to live diligently again.
└ Heavenly Demon: It resembles a pair of wings. It seems you possess a refined taste in architecture as well.
└ Wild Grylls: Thank you haha
└ Sword Matstar: Did you scatter gravel on the ground because of the mud?
└ Wild Grylls: Yes. If it were just rain I could handle it, but when winter comes it gets way too muddy.
└ Sword Matstar: That is a good choice. By the way, seeing you spread gravel, is that knowledge gained from military service?
└ Wild Grylls: How did you know?
└ Sword Matstar: I did the same thing.
└ Does the military seriously teach all kinds of random things?
└ That’s because there are so many different types of people. I even saw folks where I thought, "Why on earth is this guy in the army?"
└ The only useful thing I learned was spear technique. Having a spear makes a huge difference.
└ Passing Dwarf: Oh right. Hey, don’t tell me my casting mold got swept away too?
└ Wild Grylls: Nope, the mold was portable so I moved it inside.
└ Passing Dwarf: What a relief. That stuff is expensive, man.
└ Wild Grylls: Expensive? As if it could be more expensive than Mithril lol
└ Passing Dwarf: Damn, I’ve got nothing to say to that sh*t lmao
└ Wild Grylls: Ah. Also, could you give me two fish traps? I think I’ll be making a lot of smoked dishes from now on.
└ Passing Dwarf: I can give them to you, but don’t you have anything to give in return?
└ Wild Grylls: If I find anything good for brewing liquor, I’ll let you know right away.
└ Passing Dwarf: OK
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: An impressive layout. Are bricks really that sturdy?
└ Wild Grylls: Even though they don’t mean much against nature, they are sturdy. Plus, since I used cement this time, they’ll be even sturdier.
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: I see. That will be helpful later. Are you finished after doing just that?
└ Wild Grylls: I need to do more. I have to chop firewood and make charcoal too.
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: It must be tough having to build everything from scratch yourself.
└ Wild Grylls: It’s hard work, but finishing it gives a sense of pride.
Joy comes after hardship, as they say.
The pride of completing something you designed is hard to express in words.
Though I had built it out of necessity, I couldn’t hide my satisfaction.
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: I see. If so, do you also plan to try farming?
└ Wild Grylls: I’ll try it out, but won’t it be difficult?
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: Since it is the Forest of the Four Seasons, it might not be that difficult.
└ Wild Grylls: Maybe so.
└ Grow Tall and Strong: Treating farming like dick easy, huh;; Just tilling the field alone is brutally exhausting lmao
└ Wild Grylls: Is it really that hard?
└ Grow Tall and Strong: Honestly, soil quality matters most, but your weather is fucking crazy so it’ll be even harder. You said the season changes every week, right?
└ Wild Grylls: Yes.
└ Grow Tall and Strong: Then standard farming knowledge might be useless. With the weather jumping all over the place, the plants won’t stand a chance.
└ Wild Grylls: Mmm... Okay for now. I’ll take that into consideration.
└ Internal Cultivation Master Robert: I had not realized such issues. I have only just realized it now as well.
Hearing the explanation from the fixed handle user who seemed to be an actual farmer made me hesitate.
He added that if you were going to gamble in a casino, you might as well farm instead.
Farming was a labor as unpredictable as gambling, and this was the Forest of the Four Seasons.
’I’d need fertilizer, I’d have to water them... there really are a lot of things to consider.’Read this novel at novelping.com for the best experience.
I already had so much on my plate, so adding farming on top of it would be tough in many ways.
Especially since the Forest of the Four Seasons was a region where disasters erupted whenever it felt bored.
I was busy enough keeping myself alive, so I didn’t have the spare energy to focus on farming.
It was a cold comfort that it would be closer to tending a small vegetable garden rather than real farming.
’Should I ask the raccoon family?’
However, I discarded this idea immediately as well. Papa Raccoon was busy hunting for medicinal herbs.
Mama Raccoon would be frantically caring for the cub. No suitable workforce came to mind.
’Still, just in case, I should at least look around for a suitable spot.’
This was strictly a contingency plan. I would only farm if I truly had time to spare.
Afterward, I finished up everything clean until lunch. Lunch was the fish left in the iron container.
Since it was the first time in a long while eating fish, it tasted even more delicious.
[Passing Dwarf: Here are 2 fish traps.]
Be careful so they don’t break again in the future.
I’ll try.
Setting aside the shifting seasons, I never know when rain will fall.
[Wild Grylls: Ah. Also, can you give me a barricade too?]
[Passing Dwarf: Just stack bricks thick.]
That’d be way better.
[Wild Grylls: You think so too, right?]
[Passing Dwarf: Yeah. No matter how great wood tries to be, it can’t hold a candle to stone.]
Unless it’s the World Tree.
The World Tree, huh?
Come to think of it, I had seen a gigantic tree before.
When I received the second formula from the Heavenly Demon and experienced an out-of-body state.
I couldn’t be certain if that was the World Tree, but it was worth checking out.
[Wild Grylls: Is the World Tree really that sturdy?]
[Passing Dwarf: Its branches perform better than steel.]
That says it all, doesn’t it?
shiver Then what about the gloves I got from that elf before?
[Wild Grylls: Are the leaves just ordinary leaves?]
[Passing Dwarf: Yeah, but the silkworms aren’t ordinary silkworms either.]
I don’t know what was going through that point-ear’s mind, but they gave you something ridiculously good.
The gloves given by Let’s Grow Trees. I was putting these gloves to very good use.
Back then, I traded a Guardian’s Core, but I wondered what he was doing now.
He would occasionally pop up in the Gallery, but as always, he was just babbling about planting trees.
’Whether it’s the World Tree or whatever, I hope there’s something useful.’
In the first place, the distance was so far that even making a round trip was tough.
I left a message thanking the Dwarf and checked the fish traps.
Normally, going to the river tomorrow would be better, but food must be secured in a timely manner.
I thought it would be best if I broke the ice myself and set up the fish traps.
’The space across the river is a prairie this time.’
The space across the river shifted at specific intervals.
Though I didn’t know when that cycle was or what it would change into.
Shouldn’t I figure out this pattern sooner or later? That way my range of activity can expand...
"...Huh?"
...Wait, what the hell is that? I blinked my eyes.
Since it was a prairie, I could accept that there were various animals.
Thus, I could gloss over the presence of a giraffe, and even over the giraffe fighting back against predators.
However, a ’person’ riding atop the giraffe while swinging a sword was something I could not simply gloss over. A giraffe wasn’t a horse or anything!
Bubijeok- bubijeok-
Because it was such an unbelievable scene, I rubbed my eyes and looked forward again.
Unfortunately, as if timing it right as the space shifted, the view across the river blurred like a mirage.
Following that, only a desolate rocky terrain—not a prairie—was reflected in my eyes.
The sight of the knight riding atop the giraffe had vanished without a trace.
’Was there really a person...?’
Is someone out there? For a brief moment, a faint hope sparked, but...
’Wait, he was riding on top of a giraffe.’
He even fought like a knight in that position.
Having encountered a bizarre situation beyond measure, I felt utterly confused.
