While Tyranno was living comfortably at Grylls’s Shelter...
Kwaang! Kwang!
The dragon had been engaged in a bloody battle with a colossal White Serpent all day long.
The giant White Serpent was a formidable foe worthy of its immense size and grandeur.
A maw capable of swallowing even a dragon whole.
Venom potent enough to melt even solid stone ground.
Scales and hide that effortlessly endured most attacks.
Coupled with agility uncharacteristic of its gigantic build.
Combined, these traits turned their battle into a clash between dragons and tigers—a fierce stalemate.
A struggle between the ultimate living creature on land, the dragon, and the White Serpent rivaling it.
Their life-or-death battle showed no sign of ending easily, but...
Kwaaaang!!!
As the White Serpent fell—its neck torn open more than halfway—the long, arduous battle finally concluded.
A clash that had lasted for over half a day.
The White Serpent’s state was severe not just at its neck, but its head as well.
One eye had popped out, and its massive mouth was ripped open with its jaw dangling loosely.
The instant the serpent gaped its mouth wide to bite, the dragon had seized the opening and shattered its jaw.
"Grrrr.... Grrr...."
However, the dragon’s condition was far from good either.
Fitting for a fierce, closely matched fight, numerous large and small wounds marred the dragon’s body.
Among them, the most critical was its front leg.
Its right foreleg had been entirely torn off, gushing blood profusely.
And what of its wings? Shredded to ribbons, flying was completely impossible.
Yet, far more lethal than the physical wounds was the venom.
The White Serpent’s venom was deadly even to a dragon, making it difficult to even endure.
"Grrrr...."
After checking multiple times whether the White Serpent was truly dead, the dragon turned its head.
It turned toward the direction of its hatchling—its child, for whom giving up its very life would not be a waste.
However, heading there now would drain its remaining energy completely, leading to death.
Though it wanted to fly over immediately, the dragon suppressed that urge. Its offspring was safe.
’...Please.’
To enter a state of full recovery, the dragon slowly closed its eyes.
No creature could survive in this harsh wilderness without its parents’ help.
That was why it had entrusted the hatchling to Grylls temporarily. For whatever reason, he had protected its baby.
If he harmed the child... taking revenge then would still not be too late.
Possessing a brain no less brilliant than a human’s, the dragon had placed a gamble on the better ’probability’.
Seureureuk-
The dragon’s eyes slowly began to close.
The severed foreleg and shredded wing membranes gradually began regenerating.
Recovery would take at least a few days.
Praying internally for the hatchling to be safe until then, the dragon closed its eyes completely.
’Come to think of it, that human....’
Right before consciousness sank into the depths below, the dragon recalled.
The human who was bizarrely alien.
It couldn’t fathom why that human was in this forest.
’When I wake up... I must... speak with him.’
With that final thought, the dragon’s consciousness faded out entirely.
Though the dragon’s consciousness had fallen asleep,
Jjeojeojeojek! Jjeojek!
Its body continued to regenerate.
Day 33 of Survival.
Working all day long made the day fly by in a flash.
In the evening, I also received rice seeds from Heavenly Demon. Other than that, no notable events occurred.
Waking up in the morning, I wondered if Tyranno’s mom had come, but nobody was there.
Instead, weather slightly cooler than before greeted us.
"Kgyuuu~ Kgyuu~"
"Ppiii! Ppi!"
Even as the weather turned cool, the little ones were busy playing.
There was one difference from yesterday: a ball.
Both Wonmo and Tyranno were having a blast playing with a ball similar to a soccer ball.
’I tossed it to them just in case, and they’re playing so well with it.’
Naturally, I had requested the soccer ball from Princess Chaenggu as well.
She ended up sending a soccer ball that looked quite expensive.
Her condition for giving it was simple: post photos or videos of the two playing nicely together.
I intended to film the two of them playing just as agreed.
’Before that, I should build a goalpost.’
I roughly set up a goalpost out of wood. No need to craft it meticulously.
Next, I explained the rules to Wonmo and Tyranno.
A dead simple rule: whoever kicks the ball between the goalposts wins.
"Kgyuuu!"
"Ppiik! Ppiik!"
The two played cheerfully. I snapped photos and filmed videos of the scene as it was.
A heartwarming sight just looking at it. I was even more curious to see how the Gallery would react.

Princess Chaenggu-nim, thank you so much for giving us this ball!
Thanks to you, the kids are playing so well!
L Heavenly Demon) Children ought to grow through play. A heartwarming sight indeed.
L Sword Matstar) I played soccer a lot back in the military, so seeing it here is nostalgic.
L Heavenly Demon) Why play soccer in the army? Incomprehensible.
L Sword Matstar) I don’t know either. They just did it? Even if it’s not soccer, as long as there’s a ball, everyone plays.
L Anonymous) Sword Matstar is right. Whether knights or soldiers, as long as there’s a ball they play well LOL
L Anonymous) Army trait: The older they get, the better they are at footvolley damn it LOL
L Anonymous) In the military, the guy who plays soccer and footvolley well is king;;
L Suspiciously...) Don’t you guys play rugby or American football? We do.
L Anonymous) Probably play rugby too? But that’s a preference thing.
L Anonymous) Yeah, and American football requires wearing full armor;;
L Anonymous) Just assume they play all kinds of ball games with leave days on the line.
L Anonymous) Can’t turn down leave days LOL
L Princess Chaenggu) They’re playing so nicely! As expected of the future mascots of Chaeyu!
L Anonymous) Mascot according to who?
L Princess Chaenggu) (Photo of Wonmo wearing a uniform) Can you still say that after seeing this?
L Anonymous) XDDDDD She actually saved that photo
L Anonymous) Honestly, it’s super cute LOL
L Anonymous) Try putting a uniform on Tyranno too.
L Anonymous) No! Not Tyranno...!
L Anonymous) Isn’t there a team that uses dragons as a symbol in the first place?
L Anonymous) Pretty sure quite a few nations and fiefs use dragons as symbols;;
L Anonymous) Do it wrong and you’ll get sued big time LOL
L Anonymous) But can they even sue Grylls?
L Anonymous) They can’t. But sparks will fly at Chaeyu’s side instead LOL
L King Reor) Don’t dress a sacred dragon in dirty clothes;; Put our uniform on him instead.
L Princess Chaenggu) Put that smelly bird-brain uniform on him? That’s horrifying!
L King Reor) It’s a hawk, not a chicken; are your eyes defective?
L Princess Chaenggu) Seems like Manager Reor’s eyes are defective!
L King Reor) FUCK
L Anonymous) XDDDDDDD
L Anonymous) XDDDDDDD
L Anonymous) XDDDDDD
L Anonymous) Princess Chaenggu keeps dunking on King Reor lately LOL
L Anonymous) Makes sense, Chaenggu’s team rank shot up to 5th place now LOL
L Praise the Sun) Why am I the only one without a dragon? Why am I the only one without a dragon? Why am I the only one without a dragon? Why am I the only one without a dragon?
L Anonymous) Not having a dragon is NORMAL;
L Anonymous) Bro thinks everyone has a dragon LOL
L Anonymous) If every Tom, Dick, and Harry raised a hatchling, the world would be destroyed LOL
L Anonymous) I wanna raise Wonmo rather than Tyranno.
L Anonymous) Yeah, me too. Honestly, sweet Wonmo beats prickly-looking Tyranno any day LOL
L Anonymous) Sweet: Eats owner when hungry.
L Anonymous) Burp LOL
L Anonymous) XDDDD
L Anonymous) XDDD
As expected, the reaction was explosive. Just looking at it warmed my heart.
Shifting my eyes from the Gallery, I looked over toward Wonmo and Tyranno.
"Kgyaaaaak!!!"
"Ppiaaaaa!!"
In the brief moment I looked away, they were at each other’s throats.
Clinging onto each other, they were rolling around like a ball.
Startled by the sight, I barely managed to pry them apart.
"Why are you fighting! Friends shouldn’t fight!"
"Kgyu! Kgyu-kgyu-kgyu-kgyu! Kgyu-kgyu!"
"Ppi! Ppi-ppi-ppi! Ppiii!"
I couldn’t understand a single word.
Seeing how excited both were, they seemed pretty mad.
Ultimately, I called over the animal language translator, Lackey, and requested a translation.
First, I listened to Wonmo’s defense.
"His turn to kick into the goal. But Tyranno snatched it."
"And Tyranno?"
"If snatched, it belongs to him. This is obvious."
"Mm."
It was because I gave them ambiguous rules.
Understanding the full story, I gently admonished both of them.
Explaining that it was because my instructions were unclear.
And telling them to come talk to me first if any argument broke out in the future. This chapter was taken from novelping(.)com without permission.
"However! Pecking with a beak or biting with teeth is unforgivable. Neither of you gets snacks today!"
"Kgyuuu?!"
"Ppiik?!"
"Why so surprised? Punishment is necessary."
At the news of no snacks, both Wonmo and Tyranno wore shocked expressions.
But shock therapy like this was necessary at times.
Coddling them too much might cause the kids to grow up bad.
"Ke-eng!"
"Oh. You came?"
It was right when Wonmo and Tyranno were sulking side-by-side.
Father Raccoon visited me after a long time.
I knew he was busy preparing for winter as well.
"What did you find this time?"
"Ke-e..."
Father Raccoon trailed off and froze stiff.
I roughly knew what he saw that made him freeze. He must have seen Tyranno.
Since it came to this, introducing Tyranno to the raccoon family didn’t seem like a bad idea.
"Ah, right. Let me introduce him. His name is Tyranno. As you can see, he’s a baby dragon—a hatchling."
"Ke-ke-eng...?"
Father Raccoon looked up at me with an expression that said: D-Dragon?
Gently stroking his head, I calmed him down.
"Don’t worry, he won’t hurt you. Didn’t you see the dragon that came by last time?"
"Ke-eng..."
"You did see it. That dragon left its hatchling with me. Though I don’t know why."
I barely managed to calm Father Raccoon down.
Although fear still lingered on Father Raccoon’s face, he looked much better than a moment ago.
Still, meeting the whole family should probably be done slowly. There was still a lot of work to do.
At least I could give a heads-up in advance.
’I hope the baby raccoon gets along well with the kids.’
That was a story for later. I checked what Father Raccoon brought.
What he brought was a considerably large seed. Outwardly, it looked like a coconut, but it was a seed.
A seed three times the size of my fist. Holding this, one could probably use it as a blunt weapon.
"What’s this? A seed?"
"Ke-eng!"
Smiling brightly, Father Raccoon nodded.
I didn’t know what kind of seed it was, but planting it seemed best.
Since Father Raccoon gave it to me, something weird wouldn’t pop out, right?
Giving him one Fasting Pill as a reward, I headed straight to the vegetable garden.
Reaching the garden, Ludwig was humming a tune while operating the thresher.
Lackey working beside him was a bonus. Being bored, I had bought him a straw farmer hat, and it suited him well.
"Ahjussi. I’m gonna plant this."
"#%%?"
"I don’t know. Father Raccoon gave it to me."
Since the seed itself was much bigger than a fist, I’d have to dig deeper.
Digging the ground with a shovel, I placed the seed inside.
Cover it with dirt, sprinkle water on top, and done. Now all that remained was waiting.
Kugugugu-
"Huh?"
Shortly after planting the seed, a faint vibration began in the garden.
At the tremor, not only Ludwig and Lackey who were working, but also the other animals turned their gaze over here.
"...$%##$?"
"W-Well? I just planted it..."
At Ludwig’s question asking what on earth I planted, I wore a troubled expression.
Before long, a gradual transformation occurred in the garden.
A sprout emerging from the seed. At first, it was a tiny, minuscule sprout.
Ssuuuuuk!
However, the sprout gradually expanded until it grew to the thickness of a tree.
Just looking at this revealed it was unusual, but the real issue was the fruit.
The fruit slowly enlarged until it grew to the size of a house.
A fresh orange-colored fruit with a slightly lumpy surface.
"...A pumpkin?"
It was a pumpkin. A mega-giant pumpkin, at that.
They say Cinderella rode a pumpkin carriage to the castle; she probably rode something like this.
But the Forest of the Four Seasons was far removed from a ’fairy tale’. What did that mean?
Jjeok-
The center of the pumpkin slowly split open, turning sharp like shark teeth.
Along with this, eyes and a nose formed, making it all the more menacing.
"Kyaaaaaah!!!"
"...."
It wasn’t a fairy tale; it was Halloween.
’What on earth did he give me...?’
I’d better capture it first before thinking.
