Is there any fixed handle as dwarf-like as Passing Dwarf?
Even though I send him rare ingredients every single day, this crazy bastard dumps most of them into his alcohol brewing.
But as long as he has alcohol ingredients, he’s a guy who helps me out quite a bit, so I felt closer to him.
What I was searching for this time for a guy like him was, surprisingly, not a snack recipe or brewing ingredients, but origins.
And as I searched, I realized something. Though the forms and methods may differ, humanity has enjoyed alcohol regardless of era, age, or region. In other words, it means it’s hard to trace its exact origin.
And that while brewing technology naturally advanced alongside science, its basic framework hasn’t changed at all.
[Wild Grylls: Making alcohol is all the same. It just became more systematic as science advanced.]
[Passing Dwarf: That’s even more surprising, isn’t it? It means they invested scientific technology just to make a single drink.]
[Wild Grylls: Uh... I guess that’s true too? Just like you said, the gods loved alcohol even more.]
[Passing Dwarf: Why don’t you just go ahead and say there’s a god of alcohol too, lol]
[Wild Grylls: But there actually was?]
[Passing Dwarf: For real?]
[Wild Grylls: Yeah, there was an ancient god named Dionysus. Though he didn’t exist in reality like Aris, he was one of the symbols.]
[Passing Dwarf: Hey. Spread that quickly. What do you mean dwarves are the drunks? The gods were even bigger drunks, hahaha]
[Wild Grylls: Even the gods suffered from alcoholism, you bastard;;;]
How dare he try to drag a species-wide chronic disease into a chronic disease of all humanity.
The dwarf said he was genuinely disappointed by my words and asked if I could tell him something else.
Hearing this, a question popped into my mind. Namely, the dwarves’ love for alcohol.
At first, I just thought, ’I guess that’s just how their race is~’ but after learning the origins of this world, my thoughts changed.
Since, for better or worse, Earth’s humanity had exerted a massive influence on this world.
[Wild Grylls: By the way, why does your race love alcohol so much? Is there some related myth?]
[Passing Dwarf: I’ve never even thought about it? Ask the Gallery.]
[Wild Grylls: So you’re saying you’re happy as long as you get to drink?]
[Passing Dwarf: Of course, lol. Instead, I could bow every single day to the god who taught us about alcohol.]
They really live and die by alcohol. And it’s not even just this dwarf who’s weird.
He’s just a tiny bit worse, but because they are like that on a species-wide scale, liver disease has established itself as a racial illness.
’But this dwarf guy. Even if he only consumed what I gave him, his mana must have increased immensely, right?’
Though he hadn’t said it, his mana had surely increased drastically just like mine.
Since he said he even suffered from a sudden fever last time, it was practically certain.
Of course, even so, he was the type of guy who would just rejoice saying he could hold more alcohol, so I let it slide.
Title) Is the reason dwarves love alcohol...
Wild Grylls
Is it perhaps related to a god?
Back when I lived, there was even a god whose very symbol was alcohol, so I’m curious if it’s similar for dwarves.
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Was there no god symbolizing the heavens like this lady?
ㄴWild Grylls) There were tons. Most of them were also Chief God-level.
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Hmph.
ㄴSword Matstar) Excuse me, but you don’t actually think of yourself as a Chief God-level being, do you?
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Is there any reason I shouldn’t?
ㄴSword Matstar) You’ll get struck by divine punishment if you keep that up;;
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Divine punishment, you say. Then why has this lady not received any divine punishment until now? I cannot comprehend.
ㄴDon’t Abandon the Hero) Please do not commit blasphemy!
ㄴHeavenly Demon) This lady is the heavens itself, yet you speak of blasphemy. How absurd.
ㄴIsn’t she going to rip off the mod’s armband at this rate?
ㄴBefore that, is the sub-mod even working lately?
ㄴYeah, they seemed to be working hard?
ㄴWhatever. It’s not like this is the first or second time she’s done this, hahaha
ㄴI’m curious, is the Chief God really that strong? Unlike Aris or Aragon, there’s surprisingly little mention of him.
ㄴAllfather) He was the only god capable of ’mediating’ the twin siblings.
ㄴOh. I understand instantly. Thank you.
ㄴWild Grylls) So, what about the answer to my question...?
ㄴAllfather) I know the origin. There is a saying that Lucas, the God of Blacksmiths whom the dwarves worship, loved alcohol very much.
ㄴThere’s also a myth that he personally built a brewery just to make alcohol, yeah
ㄴIsn’t there also a furnace? The one currently beneath the dwarf royal palace.
ㄴYeah, it’s called the Furnace of Lucas. But the energy consumption just to operate that one thing is insane;;
ㄴThere is a brewery built by Lucas too, but I heard it’s broken.
ㄴWhy?
ㄴBecause the dwarves drank way too much fucking alcohol, hahahaha
ㄴHoly shit, hahahaha
ㄴThe technology was lost too, so they can’t even restore it, hahaha
ㄴWhat about the furnace?
ㄴThat’s why they rarely operate it. Unless it’s a matter of national importance, they just maintain it.
Now I knew why the dwarves always had alcohol in their mouths.
In the first place, the very god they worshiped was a drunkard, so it would actually be closer to blasphemy if they didn’t follow suit.
ㄴPassing Dwarf) Blasphemy my ass, we just drink it because it tastes good?
ㄴExactly. Why is everyone misunderstanding?
ㄴWe’re just drinking because it’s delicious, hahaha
ㄴWild Grylls) The way I see it, you guys were definitely designed wrong from the genetic level.
But that wasn’t it. The race itself was just a bunch of drunkards.
After letting out a dry chuckle, a question suddenly occurred to me.
’Come to think of it, this is my first time hearing about Lucas. It seems there are other gods besides Aris and Aragon.’
I hadn’t been very interested in this world’s mythology, and Aris’s status was so high that her presence overshadowed everything else.
Then what about the other gods? Suddenly curious, I asked.
ㄴWild Grylls) What about the other gods? There must be more besides Lucas.
ㄴAllfather) They existed in records, but unfortunately, their names are not widely known.
ㄴWild Grylls) Why is that?
ㄴDon’t Abandon the Hero) Because they all died fighting the dragons! It’s also called the Great War!
ㄴWild Grylls) ;;
Apparently, this world’s version of Gigantomachy or Ragnarok broke out, and they all died.
Seeing how they died without even leaving records, it seemed the entire world had been completely devastated.
’Just how massive was the war for even the records to vanish?’Visit novelрing.com for the full chapter.
I was slightly curious, but it wasn’t important right now, so I moved on.
What I had to do now was give the dwarf a book related to brewing.
[Wild Grylls: Like I said earlier, it’s just systematized, but the basic framework is the same. Giving it to you won’t change much.]
[Passing Dwarf: It’s fine, I have a plan too.]
[Wild Grylls: Don’t do anything weird;;]
[Passing Dwarf: You’re one to talk, lol]
I had nothing to say to such a clear rebuttal. Chuckling, I handed over the book related to brewing methods.
Even if it was a brewing method, it would be impossible to replicate with this world’s current level of technology.
’Just measuring the indoor temperature would be a struggle right now. Yeast would be even harder.’
No matter how advanced alchemy was, the fact that it was merely the predecessor of chemistry didn’t change.
Though things would change once I handed the books over to Starlight Lady... there was no telling how long it would take.
It was just meant to let him know, ’Ah, this kind of knowledge exists~’ and that was it.
But had I underestimated the dwarf all this time?

For he hath revealed unto me the brewing arts of the gods.
I shall share this suitable brewing art with all dwarves to benefit them.
ㄴWow, holy shit, did you actually get a book?
ㄴThis is insane. Insane. It’s real brewing technology.
ㄴI shall acknowledge you as the savior of dwarves.
ㄴBut it’s not just dwarves, all the other races are looking at this too, hahaha
ㄴPassing Dwarf) Information like this must be shared. That way, we can drink more delicious alcohol, lol
ㄴBrother! If we meet in the future, I shall personally buy you a drink!
ㄴBrother! Where do you live! I wish to personally invite you to my home!
ㄴBut what is yeast? It says to add yeast.
ㄴAside from yeast, there are many things that can’t be done with our current technology.
ㄴLooking at it, it seems to only teach the basic framework?
ㄴIt’s written in the explanation. Brewing is human skill layered on top of science.
ㄴOne way or another, it means the craftsman’s skill is what’s important.
ㄴStill, it seems like it’ll be incredibly helpful. Just look at the optimal temperature for beer. There are so many bastards who wander in the dark because they don’t know that, lol
He had announced it so openly. I was slightly dumbfounded.
It wasn’t that he had crossed the line because he was drunk... No, one could tell just by looking at the comments.
Most people didn’t even know what yeast was, and they would soon realize that the basic framework itself was the same.
The book I gave him taught the ’roots’ of brewing. The dwarf had probably posted it knowing this.
[Wild Grylls: Don’t you have anything to say to me?]
[Passing Dwarf: I’m sorry. This was information I couldn’t monopolize alone.]
[Wild Grylls: Why don’t you just post the fried chicken recipe instead?]
[Passing Dwarf: I’m going to monopolize that one.]
Well, considering what he had done for me so far, I willingly let it slide.
Besides, unlike other information, it wasn’t all that important.
Because alcohol was a culture that could never be separated from human history.
Before leaving the library, an interesting idea suddenly popped into my mind.
’What would the people of this world think if they read fantasy novels?’
For example, the father of fantasy, Lord of the R*ngs, or something.
However, it might surprisingly receive low ratings because this world itself was an actual fantasy.
Rather, a novel realistically depicting an electrical civilization would feel more like fantasy to them.
’Fantasy...’
I fell into thought for a moment, harboring a sliver of hope.
The figure who left a massive mark on Republic of Korea’s fantasy novels. The series written by that person.
I still clearly remember it. The scene where a chicken-headed aberration swept away an entire army.
Since so much time had passed, I wondered if there might be a sequel to the series.
"Is there one?"
[It exists.]
"I-it exists? Really?!"
[But it has not been stocked.]
My hope was short-lived as a bolt from the blue struck down. Is this what they call the torture of hope?
I was momentarily dumbfounded, but managed to pull myself together and asked.
"No, why?! How come?!"
[A war broke out right before it could be stocked.]
"What kind of fucking...!"
For a moment, my anger flared up so much that I almost grabbed the back of my neck. I barely managed to let out a breath.
Since things have turned out like this, there is only one way.
"Do I have to go to Korea?"
Of course, I was just joking, and I returned to the Shelter while soothing my disappointment. Bringing a novel along to soothe my loneliness was a bonus.
I should reread it from the beginning after a long time and reminisce about the past.
"Master. Is there no sequel to this series?"
"There is, but it’s not in that library."
"Why!"
"They say a war broke out right before it could be stocked."
"Woo-woo! Woo-woo-woo! Woo-woo!"
Lackey began to throw a fit. You should experience my pain too.
"But Master. Do you know what’s interesting?"
"What is it?"
"The chicken-headed aberration in this book might actually exist somewhere in this place."
"...."Get faster updates on novelping.com.
That’s actually terrifying.
It was after Grylls had spread information about all kinds of origins.
Just like the protests that occurred in Mephisto, it delivered a significant impact to the Central Plains as well.
In fact, it could be said to be even worse than Mephisto, and for good reason, as it was heavily intertwined with religion.
Buddhism and Taoism, religions whose origins and propagators were unclear.
The prestigious sects based on these two religions were currently undergoing an untimely ordeal.
"Please accept me as a member!"
"I wish to attain enlightenment! Please, grant me the teachings of Buddha...!"
"I beg of you. I will sever my ties with the secular world, so...!"
Among them, the one facing the greatest difficulty was the Shaolin Temple. The most well-known sect among those related to Buddhism.
Requests to be accepted into the sect surged, and among them, there were many who had completely shaved their heads.
A religion passed down from the gods. A sect that followed that religion. Now that its origin had been proven, how could they hold back?
If they received the teachings, their martial arts would surely advance by leaps and bounds. With such thoughts in mind, they flocked to the Shaolin Temple.
"W-what on earth is happening?"
"Well, that is..."
From the Shaolin Temple’s perspective, they couldn’t help but be deeply bewildered.
And for good reason, as this incident had erupted while they were living in peace.
Since the number of martial artists wishing to enter the temple had increased without any warning, it was difficult to make a judgment.
"Explain in detail. What was posted in that disgraceful place?"
In this sudden situation, the Abbot, Venerable Woo-won, asked the monk.
At this, the monk explained the current situation in detail.
From the monk’s perspective, the Gallery was something that shouldn’t be easily accessed, but they too were human.
Since many accessed it secretly, they were able to quickly grasp the current situation.
"Sigh. What in the..."
"What should we do?"
At the monk’s question, Abbot Woo-won fell into thought.
A situation perfectly described by the expression ’a bolt from the blue’.
Abbot Woo-won stared at the noisy outside before speaking in a firm voice.
"Send them all back."
"Would that be alright?"
"We ourselves are in a complicated situation right now, so we cannot simply accept them as we please. Moreover, are their motives not impure?"
Abbot Woo-won was right. Most of the martial artists who had gathered now were those who visited for the advancement of their martial arts.
There would be very few who truly wished to follow the teachings of Buddha.
"Accept them only after the situation has calmed down. Be sure to add that the process of becoming a monk is by no means smooth."
"Yes. Understood."
As the monk withdrew, Abbot Woo-won was left alone.
He turned his head to look at the Buddha statue. The statue sat in a solemn posture.
’Amitabha... What would Buddha think if he saw this?’
The existence of an origin was not a matter that could be easily overlooked.
Since it meant they might be able to regain the lost teachings of Buddha.
In his heart, he wanted to plead with the one who had revealed the existence of that origin.
To tell him about the origin, promising to grant any request in return.
It was when Abbot Woo-won quietly closed his eyes while looking at the Buddha statue.
"It is a magnificent Buddha statue. Though it is my first time seeing one, its dignity stands out."
"Who is there?!"
A woman’s voice heard from behind without a single trace of presence.
Abbot Woo-won turned around in sheer shock.
To enter this sacred space so carelessly, and without even a hint of presence.
And the moment he turned around, he couldn’t help but frown.
Although her face was veiled, judging by the curves of her body, he could surmise she was a woman.
The Shaolin Temple was a space forbidden to women. Yet, entering without causing any commotion meant one of two things.
Either a noble lady who knew nothing of the world had caused trouble, or she was an eccentric possessing terrifying martial arts.
"Are you referring to this lady?"
At Abbot Woo-won’t shout, the woman, Yoo So-wol, replied with a smile.
From that smile, Abbot Woo-won could realize.
"I am the Heavenly Demon."
"...Heavenly Demon? Surely, the...?"
"Indeed."
That she was a being he could not dare to oppose.
He felt cold sweat trickling down his cheek.
Even though she didn’t release any energy, the pressure was terrifying.
"...What is the reason for your visit here?"
Abbot Woo-won barely managed to open his mouth to ask the reason for her visit.
Considering she had approached silently, it was unlikely she came with good intentions.
But who was the Heavenly Demon, no, Yoo So-wol?
"I came out of curiosity."
"...Curiosity?"
"I was curious to see what a Buddha statue modeled after the image of Buddha looks like."
Having said that, Yoo So-wol stared intently at the Buddha statue, and then...
"This should be enough."
She vanished just like that.
To reiterate, even though Abbot Woo-won had his eyes wide open, she had vanished like the wind.
"...?"
Abbot Woo-won stood frozen like a statue for a while, trying to grasp the situation.
Meanwhile, Yoo So-wol...
[Heavenly Demon: (Photo of the Buddha statue)]
[Heavenly Demon: My dear friend. Is this perhaps Buddha?]
[Wild Grylls: Usually, Buddha statues are made in the likeness of Buddha, so... probably? Where did you take that?]
[Heavenly Demon: I visited the Shaolin Temple and took it myself.]
[Wild Grylls: Did you shave your head bald?]
[Heavenly Demon: Now, now.]
She was seeking confirmation from the very person who had spread the origin.
