A day where I did nothing—no, couldn’t do anything—passed by.
It was a day spent entirely cooped up in the cave because the rain was practically pouring in sheets.
With no smartphone and only the Gallery, I felt like I spent the entire day just browsing the forum.
Whenever I had some spare time in between, I did things like my Internal Cultivation Art or basic training.
I kept up with my training, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of sheer boredom.
’But that’s over now.’
I took a deep breath as I looked up at the cloudless, clear blue sky.
Perhaps because it had rained, the scent of the earth was richer than usual. It was a highly pleasant smell.
Thanks to the drainage work I did yesterday, there weren’t even any puddles pooling near the cave.
If I hadn’t worked on the drainage, it would have been a muddy mess. I felt a sudden swell of pride.
Title) The rain has stopped!
Wild Grylls

Looks like I can start exploring again!
Before that, I should get ready to set up the fish traps...
ㄴHeavenly Demon) You have worked hard. I shall send the Fasting Pills soon as well.
ㄴWild Grylls) Thank you! Roughly how much is it?
ㄴHeavenly Demon) It is an amount that will easily last you a month or two. I wished to give you a year’s supply, but my aide tells me the ingredients are lacking.
ㄴWild Grylls) Even that is something to be grateful for! Could you pass along my thanks to your aide? I can give you an Inner Core if you’d like.
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Very well. Since it is your request, I shall consider it.
ㄴSmart Demon) What do you mean you have another Inner Core? When did you catch it?
ㄴWild Grylls) They just keep popping out whenever I catch fish?
ㄴSmart Demon) Then how many Inner Cores have you gathered so far?
ㄴWild Grylls) I think I have about 4 or 5? But I heard their energy fades over time, so I’ll probably eat them soon.
ㄴSmart Demon) If I give you a container that can preserve them, can you give me one Inner Core?
ㄴWild Grylls) As long as you don’t scam me, I can give you one.
ㄴSmart Demon) OK, wait right there.
ㄴHeavenly Demon) You could have just asked me instead of asking that fellow.
ㄴWild Grylls) What’s the harm? Think of it as expanding my network.
ㄴPassing Dwarf) Are you ignoring me?
ㄴWild Grylls) A fish or a crab is enough for you.
ㄴPassing Dwarf) You know me well. So hurry up, take the fish traps, and offer up some fish.
ㄴWild Grylls) Ha, you’re really ticking me off lol
ㄴPassing Dwarf) ?
ㄴWild Grylls) Of course I must bring them to you.
ㄴEvery time I see this, seriously lol
ㄴGrylls is definitely confirmed to be the dwarf’s slave until he escapes lol
Even though the rain had stopped, there was still plenty of work to do. Especially the fact that I had to reinstall the fish traps.
I would probably have to blow the entire morning on it. But even without the fish traps, there was a mountain of work.
’I need to inspect the drainage channel again too.’
Yesterday’s inspection was strictly ’temporary’. I had just cleared away some dirt and called it a day.
But because of the torrential downpour, some parts of the walls had collapsed, creating puddles here and there.
I felt like I needed to properly reinforce the drainage channel, at the very least. I could probably just source the materials from the auction house.
[Wild Grylls: Passing Dwarf-nim has registered a trade item.]
[Passing Dwarf: One fish, you know the drill?]
Go ahead and squeeze blood from a stone, you wicked bastard.
[Passing Dwarf: OK, two fish.]
[Wild Grylls: Spare me, hyung.]
[Passing Dwarf: Just kidding, give them to me when you have some to spare.]
I have a conscience too.
What’s this in my right hand?
Passing Dwarf
I just arrived at the mine, you bastard.
OK, I believe you.
I also got resupplied with fish traps from the dwarf.
[Heavenly Demon: If you need more Fasting Pills, just say the word.]
I shall speak to my aide immediately.
[Wild Grylls: Doesn’t this cost a lot of money?]
[Heavenly Demon: It probably does.]
But my aide will handle the financial management.
I’ll give you one Inner Core right now, so please tell them to use this to help cover the costs...
[Heavenly Demon: Very well. I shall speak to my aide at once.]
I received the Fasting Pills from the Heavenly Demon.
The moment the new Fasting Pills arrived, the one who rejoiced the most was none other than Speed Sloth.
When a sack full of Fasting Pills suddenly popped out of thin air with a Tuk!, his eyes went wide and round.
Since he usually kept his eyes half-closed, it was easy to deduce exactly how he was feeling.
"How’s that? The power of yours truly."
"...."
"...Right. I’m the idiot for bragging."
It was obvious that Speed Sloth thought of me as a tree anyway.Find the original chapter at novelping . com.
Specifically, a tree that spontaneously sprouted food. Today, that perception had likely grown even stronger.
"Bbareumbo."
"...."
"Please, whatever you do, don’t slice open the belly of the goose that lays the golden eggs."
Since that goose was me. I didn’t bother adding the last part out loud.
There was no way Speed Sloth would understand, so it was closer to a mere grumble.
At any rate, I had received everything I needed from the regulars. Now, all that was left was the work.
"Jjeop-jjeop-jjeop. Salty, so salty."
"Nyam-nyam-nyam-nyam."
But first, I had to take care of breakfast. This morning’s menu was smoked meat.
All I had to do was lightly roast it over the campfire to warm it up.
All the meat I had salted so far had already been smoked.
I had enough food to last about a month, plus the Fasting Pills.
’But there are no other people.’
What else could I do? I had no choice but to escape this place myself.
After finishing breakfast, I went back to working on the drainage channel.
I scooped out the dirt to drain the stagnant water and smoothed the walls as much as possible to prevent them from collapsing.
’I should probably line the bottom with processed stones, right?’
Naturally, I planned to look for those stones in the auction house or ask the dwarf for them.
I wasn’t going to do that work immediately; I planned to do it after setting up the fish traps.
Since setting up the traps alone would take at least thirty minutes, it was better to get a head start.
’I should catch some frogs too, it’s been a while.’
Since I hadn’t provoked the Golden Frogs lately, I didn’t even know how they were doing.
Besides, I had already received all the medicine from Allfather, so I hadn’t felt much need to hunt them.
’I think I also need a pair of work boots.’
The boots crafted by the dwarf’s friend were waterproof, but their design made it inevitable for water to seep in through the openings.
But since I couldn’t exactly go in barefoot, I decided to just bear with it for today.
If worst came to worst, I could just dry them thoroughly over the campfire, so it wasn’t too bad.
"Alright. Let’s go."
"Kkyuu!"
With Speed Sloth riding on my back, I headed to the river with Wonmo.
Wonmo seemed to be in high spirits today, bouncing and leaping all around me.
How could he be so adorable? I smiled warmly and kept walking.
Swaaaaaa!
When we arrived, the river’s flow had noticeably receded compared to when it was raining.
But regardless of the lower water level, there was something else that caught my eye.
Peoltteok! Peoltteok!
"Huh?"
"Kkyuuuuu!"
While I was caught off guard, Wonmo’s eyes sparkled as he dashed forward ododo.
He was moving too fast for me to stop him, but it didn’t matter.
Because there were fish scattered all over the riverbank.
It seemed they had ridden the swollen river yesterday and failed to make it back in time.
’What a stroke of luck!’
Just counting the fish flopping weakly on the riverbank, there were more than five.
Three of them were extra-large fish from the Forest of the Four Seasons. The others were somewhat smaller.
However, one among them was an exceptionally unique specimen.
"Do eels live in rivers too?"
I muttered to myself. Out of all the flopping fish, exactly one was an eel.
True to the Forest of the Four Seasons, its size was massive. It easily exceeded one meter in length.
’It’s a bit gross.’
Its snake-like appearance made it slightly repulsive. But what kind of fish was an eel?
Isn’t it famous as a fish great for ’stamina’—something men would absolutely go crazy for?
...Though, being stranded in the Forest of the Four Seasons, I had absolutely nowhere to use that stamina, but it was still a good thing.
I could just think of it as channeling that energy elsewhere.
"Nyom-nyom-nyom."
Wonmo didn’t seem to want the big fish, so he started eating the smaller ones scattered around.
Since he had just eaten breakfast, he seemed to treat them as snacks.
In the meantime, I put on my World Tree Gloves and loaded the fish into the traps.
This unexpected little slice of happiness was starting to put me in a great mood.
Ppuak! "Upup?! Pua!"
However, the eel caused an unexpected problem.
The moment I grabbed it, the eel thrust its head right toward my mouth.
It was a good thing I reacted quickly, or else we would have gone past a simple peck and straight into a deep, passionate kiss.
Still, I couldn’t shake the sheer disgust. I hurriedly stuffed the creature into the fish trap.
Its body was incredibly slippery, but thanks to the World Tree Gloves, I managed to shove it in easily.
"Puu! Pupu!"
Ugh. So gross. I wiped my mouth and glared at the eel.
You’re dead meat tonight. I’ll let you slide for now since I don’t know how to clean you yet.
Since I had gathered all the fish on the ground, I decided to head back for now.
I needed to put them in iron buckets to keep them fresh. The source of this chapter is NovelPing.
Just in case, I put the eel in a separate iron bucket—a wider one.
Considering how it tried to force its way into my mouth, there was no guarantee it wouldn’t try the same thing with the other fish.
Title) Got an eel.
Wild Grylls
I went up to the river and found an eel on the riverbed. Aren’t these supposed to live in the ocean?
ㄴHeavenly Demon) Quite the stamina-boosting delicacy. I understand eels are highly precious.
ㄴSword Matstar) Isn’t that a snake? How is an eel that huge?’
ㄴWild Grylls) It’s the Forest of the Four Seasons, after all. But don’t eels live in the sea?
ㄴAllfather) There are eels that live in freshwater as well. However, they do not grow that large.
ㄴFreshwater eels are actually the ones used for farming. Sea eels can’t be farmed.
ㄴWow, but it’s really fascinating that it’s so big. I wonder if that one has an Inner Core too?’
ㄴGrylls is going to be bursting with energy tonight lol
ㄴWhat’s the point of that? He can’t use it anyway lol
ㄴHe’ll probably make do with Gallery stuff.
ㄴI can’t take this. I’m going to have to leak those photos today lol
ㄴFuck, stop it.
ㄴOrange Badge-nim! Over here! There’s a terrorist threat over here!
ㄴPassing Dwarf) Are eels tasty? They’re damn expensive where I live, so I’ve never tried one.
ㄴWild Grylls) I’ll give you a bite later. I want to try it myself, so I can’t give you the whole thing.
ㄴPassing Dwarf) OK, I’m pretty curious about the taste.
ㄴWild Grylls) Oh, right. Allfather-nim. When I caught this bastard, it headbutted right into my mouth. Is that normal?
ㄴAllfather) That is an extremely dangerous situation. Eels have a habit of burrowing into dark, narrow spaces. There have been cases where eels burrowed into people’s mouths and suffocated them.
ㄴWild Grylls) shiver;;
ㄴThat’s why they’re even used for torture. Making them burrow into the lower orifices.
ㄴUgh;; That’s fucking horrific.
ㄴStarlight Lady) I heard eels are good for stamina, is that true?
ㄴWild Grylls) Yes. Should I give you some later?
ㄴStarlight Lady) If it’s not too much trouble, could I have just a bite...? I’ll give you some ice cream later!
ㄴWild Grylls) Good.
ㄴLook at him saying "good" lol
ㄴTrading it for ice cream, what the hell lol
The appearance of the eel threw the Gallery into a frenzy.
Most users commented that they had never seen an eel of that size, or that it looked more like a python than an eel.
My brief moment of pride was short-lived; figuring out how to clean it was the priority.
’I’ll do that tonight.’
For now, heading back up to set up the fish traps came first.
Before long, I arrived back at the river with my animal companions and finished preparing to set up the traps.
"Gaegol. Gaegol."
"Gaegolgol."
But first, clearing out the Golden Frogs was the priority.
Even in the swollen river, the creatures stubbornly held their ground.
I stepped back with Wonmo. It was time for Speed Sloth to shine.
"Tuu!"
"Tu!"
"Puu!"
Thick, purple venom was spat toward Speed Sloth.
But Speed Sloth dodged left and right with ease, as if the attacks weren’t even worth his concern.
Ultimately, once they ran out of venom, the frogs plunged into the river with a Pungdong!
This was the perfect opportunity to set up the fish traps.
Peoeok! "Argh!"
Just as I had almost finished setting up the traps, some random fish leaped out of the water and smacked me right in the face.
I clutched my nose in sharp pain. It hurt so much that tears welled up in my eyes.
Ttuuk- ttuk- But there was something even worse. Blood had started dripping from my nose.
I had been injured in other places before, but this was the first time I had a nosebleed.
However, a situation unfolded that made it impossible to even worry about the nosebleed.
Tudadadada! Sensing the scent of blood, dozens of fish swarmed toward me in a frenzy.
Come to think of it, something similar had happened when I discarded the tiger’s entrails last time.
Fearing I might get swept away by the school of fish, I hurriedly scrambled out of the water.
"Hyuu..."
I let out a sigh of relief. It was a stroke of luck that the nosebleed only started just as I finished setting up the traps.
Now that the traps were set, I just needed to return to the cave.
I would get straight to work on the drainage channel. But first, I had to plug my nose with some tissue.
’Do I need to use an Elixir for this too?’
I was slightly conflicted. Well, if the bleeding didn’t stop, I’d just have to use one.
Ttuuk- ttuk- Even with my nose plugged, the blood slowly seeped through, dripping onto the ground.
A short while after Grylls departed...
Chwaaaaa! A hand burst out from within the river.
It was a webbed hand, much like a frog’s. Yet, the structure of the hand itself was remarkably similar to a ’human’’s.
Cheujeujeujeujeu- Before long, the owner of that hand revealed its face. That face looked almost like...
"Keureureu..."
It bore a striking resemblance to a great white shark dwelling in the ocean.
