My Card Girl Infinite Evolution - Chapter 11

“Ghostly otherworld dimension?”

Luo Sheng recalled the otherworldly dimension that had invaded East Huaminxiang earlier.

Then he picked up his phone and only now noticed that a message from the academy had been blocked along with everything else when he had muted his phone earlier.

[Dear student, the Card Alliance has dealt with the ghostly otherworld dimension and now has control over that area. The academy has obtained entry passes. Card Masters who need them can go there on their own. Please note, act within your capabilities. The academy is not responsible for injuries or deaths!]

This was clearly a practical resource provided by the Card Alliance to the academy to improve the level of Card Masters in Pingcheng.

Because high school Card Masters in Pingcheng, if they couldn’t get into a Card University, would all find a job in Pingcheng, even being recruited into the City’s Guard Bureau or Security Bureau.

Even if they got into a Card University, after achieving success in their studies, they could come back to Pingcheng to take up high-ranking positions, becoming big shots guarding an area and improving Pingcheng’s high-end combat power.

Of course, the most important reason was that Card Masters were being consumed rather quickly. Just one invasion from a ghostly otherworld dimension had caused a large number of civilian casualties and at least a dozen Card Masters to die in battle. The Pingcheng Card Alliance had to quickly make up for the shortage of Card Masters.

The academy similarly encouraged students to participate, as this related to the quality of the academy’s students, the academy’s ranking, and the resources allocated by the alliance.

Moreover, when otherworldly dimensions invaded the Card Master world, the price of defeat was to be transformed into cards and become part of this world’s resources. The Card Alliance and the academy could benefit from this activity.

Luo Sheng looked at the cards in his hand: two bronze 4-star battle character cards and one bronze 6-star defensive mecha card. It shouldn’t be a problem.

So he also rushed out the door.

Just as he reached downstairs, he saw Qin Jianjia wearing a helmet, in an extremely cool posture riding an American-style vintage cruiser motorcycle, twisting the handlebars, with the power cranked to the max.

Vroom vroom vroom…!

The roar of the motorcycle echoed throughout the entire Wanghou Garden, the exhaust pipe spewing blue fire arcs. In the next second, only a tiny bit of her silhouette remained.

In a moment, she disappeared at the edge of his vision. This was clearly an effect that only card powers could produce.

“Motorcycle and beauty…”

Luo Sheng was full of envy for her mount card.

In his poverty, he could only take a taxi.

The location of the ghostly otherworld dimension in East Huaminxiang had already been marked on the electronic map and listed as a high-risk area. Generally, ordinary citizens or card apprentices were not allowed to enter these areas, only Card Masters could enter.

No one knew when monsters might jump out and hunt humans.

The once proud Dragon City had been defeated in an otherworldly dimension invasion, resulting in the entire city being slaughtered, with almost no Card Masters or civilians surviving, not even a chicken or dog left.

Even all of Dragon City’s card pools were destroyed, with nearly 1 million cards damaged beyond repair. The losses were enormous. This incident greatly shocked the Card Alliance and other cities.

The taxi arrived at the edge of the medium-risk zone and wouldn’t go any further. The rest could only be covered on foot by Card Masters.

Fortunately, after becoming a Card Master, Luo Sheng’s physical qualities had all been enhanced under the nourishment of spiritual power. He himself could even fight against bronze 2-star cards, so his sprinting speed wouldn’t be too bad.

However, the surrounding streets were desolate.

There were hardly any human figures to be seen. Occasionally, dried bloodstains could be seen, all telling of the tragic events that had occurred that night.

A few Card Masters who had rushed over, seeing this miserable scene, commented in bits and pieces: “The scene that night was truly tragic. The civilians who couldn’t escape in time were all killed. Although the official report says over 100 people died or were injured, in reality, it’s far more than that.”

“I heard that even a silver Card Master died in battle. I can feel waves of cold wind now,” another Card Master said, rubbing his arms.Get faster updates on nоvelping.com.

Some people were already hesitating whether to enter or not.

Luo Sheng didn’t pay attention to these Card Masters huddling together for warmth.

He arrived at a blockade entrance and saw a group of police officers from the Guard Bureau, as well as a uniformed black-haired big sister staff member.

Seeing Luo Sheng approach, the black-haired big sister asked with a standard smile, “Respected Card Master, before entering the ghostly otherworld dimension, do you need an accident insurance?”

Then she took out a contract full of dense text and continued to introduce:

“This otherworldly dimension entry accident insurance can effectively protect you and your family. It only costs 50,000 yuan. In case of an accident, it’s 4 times the compensation for your designated family members. Even if you’re seriously injured, 70% of the medical expenses can be reimbursed.”

Luo Sheng was stunned for a while. Insurance had actually reached this kind of place. The person behind this must be a business genius.

The more dangerous the place, the more in demand insurance becomes.

However, Luo Sheng couldn’t afford the insurance money now. Besides, he had no family, so no matter what, the insurance company would profit.

A middle-aged man came over, “You’ve just become a Card Master not long ago, your strength is insufficient. I don’t recommend you to go in. If you insist on going in, it’s better to buy an insurance policy.”

“Instructor Su Tianchen?”

Luo Sheng turned his head and saw that it was the dean of his Experimental No. 2 School. Now his identity was the registration and review officer for students from Experimental No. 2 School entering the ghostly otherworld dimension.

The other person nodded slightly, still wanting to persuade, but saw Luo Sheng smile awkwardly, “Teacher, I’m just an orphan. No matter who I write down, it’s a loss!”

Su Tianchen was stunned, shaking his head helplessly.

“It’s quite dangerous to enter inside, and no one can guarantee your safety either.

If an accident happens, it’s best to call nearby Card Masters for help. However, generally speaking, everyone can barely protect themselves, so have you thought it through?”

Luo Sheng nodded heavily, “I still want to go in, even if it’s just to see the world.”

Su Tianchen’s face was expressionless as he sat back in his chair, took Luo Sheng’s Card Master credentials, swiped the card, recorded it, and let him in.

As he was entering, Su Tianchen didn’t forget to remind him: “Next time you come in, remember to find a girlfriend. That way, you won’t lose out.”

“But won’t she stab me inside for the money?”

“Uh…” Su Tianchen was shocked by his train of thought, then quickly returned to normal and said: “I have a daughter who’s still single.”

“Teacher, goodbye!”

Luo Sheng ran away as if he had stepped on invincible wind and fire wheels, and in a moment, he was out of sight.

Su Tianchen shook his head helplessly.

……

Luo Sheng stepped into the contaminated area of the ghostly otherworld dimension.Enjoying the story? Read on at novеlping.com.

A strong wave of otherworldly dimension energy hit him, making him feel uncomfortable.

The spiritual jade kept flashing, indicating the danger of this place.

Luo Sheng summoned Acoley and Alice to protect him, and put on the improved mecha, instantly feeling a sense of security.

However, the surrounding environment was like the end of the world. Although the phone showed it was nearly noon, there was still no sign of the blazing sun here, only an endless long night that inspired fear.

He immediately turned on the mecha’s lighting system, and the gloomy place in front of him became bright, allowing him to continue walking forward.

However, just as he took a step.

“My magic!”

Acoley threw a fireball towards a street lamp 10 meters to Luo Sheng’s left, which exploded, instantly illuminating the area in front.

A strange black shadow appeared before his eyes and made a loud sound.

“Moo moo~!”

Only then did Luo Sheng see clearly that it was a pitch-black minotaur holding a chain connected to a hook, looking at Luo Sheng with anger, and not shifting its target despite Acoley’s attack.

The hook was thrown, accompanied by a whistling sound of breaking through the air, with a long chain trailing behind.

Luo Sheng’s spiritual jade went crazy with warnings. He reflexively retreated quickly, the hook brushing past the mecha, creating a shower of sparks, and finally smashing heavily into a brick wall.

Boom!

A loud noise, dust everywhere, and the brick wall was smashed to pieces. The force was comparable to a crane.

“That was close! I thought I was going to die. This otherworldly creature is so strong.”

Luo Sheng patted his chest, feeling a lingering fear.

Fighting these creatures had already surpassed the battles of hunting low-level criminals in the post-apocalyptic mechanical world.

Here, the invading otherworldly creatures were almost lethal with every move. One moment of carelessness and life would be lost.

“Moo moo!”

The pure love little warrior minotaur roared angrily.

It tried hard to pull out its life-taking hook, but the hook was embedded in the brick wall, causing the chain to tighten momentarily.

Alice seized the opportunity to leap onto the chain, running wildly as if walking a tightrope, charging towards it.

The minotaur didn’t sit idly by. It pulled out a demon-subduing staff from its waist, a short-handled weapon similar to a harpoon, and swung at Alice. Unfortunately, its plan didn’t succeed.

Acoley provided support from behind her, forming a barrage with a large number of small fireballs, smashing into the minotaur’s body. Instantly, sparks flew everywhere. Before Alice could attack, it turned into a card and fell to the ground.

Obviously, they were more afraid of Acoley’s fire magic.

Luo Sheng picked up the card on the ground, a bronze 3-star card 【Ox-headed Jailer】.
