âYe who pass me,â Oh Kang-Woo continued. âTo eternal suffering.â
Fwoosh.
Gold and black flames set ablaze, creating a giant door shaped like a black sun.
âAhââ
Akartâs expression hardened and his teeth clacked. Only now had he realized that he knew nothing about the Demon King. The uneasiness he had felt at the top of the Tower of Creation was not from the fact that Kang-Woo had become one with the Demonic Sea.
Countless eyes stared at him from the other side of the black sun.
âYe who pass me,â the chant continued menacingly.
Akart instinctively raised his scale spear.
âI have to stop him.â
Something irreversible would occur if he did not.âTo the land of the dead.â
However, the countless eyes from across the black sun oppressed him.
âHaaa, haaa, haaa!!â Akart panted heavily.
He felt like he was stuck in an inescapable swamp. The chills running down his back kept his feet stuck to the ground.
âNoâŚâ
Akart bit his lip and shook his head. He lifted his foot off the ground as if pulling out a tree rooted to the ground. His breathing grew more laboredâ he could only take a single step despite using all his might.
â...â
He felt like he was swimming through a deep oceanâ a boundless abyss.
âThis isâŚâ
Akart could barely move. He couldnât stop the chant at this rate. He could fire a golden wave from afar but did not think it would be enough to pierce that black sun.
âI have to⌠pierce it myself.â
There was no other way to destroy the black sun than to infuse the Primordial Light directly into it.
âButâŚâ
Akartâs white eyes reflected hesitation. As the Demon King mentioned, he had not yet unveiled his true power. It was not because he underestimated the Demon King or that he had arrogantly let his guard down.
âThe more I use my true power, the less souls I can save from the ending Earth.â
The poor souls dying in agony from their inevitable demise swirled around Akartâs head, begging him to save them.
âI⌠have no choice.â
Akart closed his eyes tightly and drew out more of his true power.
Crack, crack!
His body split apart, forming spider web-like cracks. The more he drew out his true power, the more his substitute body was overloaded. Immense pain spread throughout his body like countless blades tearing him apart from the inside. đĹĐĐᚊ
âRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!â
However, the determination in Akartâs eyes did not falter under such pain.
Boom! Boom!!
He forcibly moved his legs to charge at the chanting Demon King.
"Malice dyes the sea black, creating me with endless desires.â
The menacing and evil chant continued even as Akart struggled to move.
"Only those eternal may precede me for I am eternal.â
âNoâŚ!â
âYe who enter here.â
âSTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!â Akart shouted desperately.
He clenched the scale spear tightly as he raised and threw it. The spear flew like an arrow said to have shot down nine suns in mythology. The spear pierced the center of the black sun.
âAbandon all hope.â
A sea of demonic energy pouted out of the black sun along with the final line of the chant.
Wriggleâ!!!
Viscous black liquid like tar, enough to form a tsunami poured down on Luceo Pure and gradually began to take countless forms.
âA-Aaaahh.â
Goat horns, bat wings, hideous teeth and nails, and long tails⌠They were demons laying dormant inside the Abyss of the Demonic Sea. Demons were no threat to Akart and his retainers; a wave of their hands could easily destroy thousands of demons as if they were insects.
Wriggle.
However, the demons who emerged from the black sun were unlike the weak demons they knew. Their bodies were formed by the Demonic Seaâ an immortal army that couldnât be killed through normal means.
âKurgh!!!â
Akart quickly jumped backward and extended his right arm forward. The golden scale spear embedded in the black sun flew back to his hand.
âI was too lateâŚ!â
He regretted not making the decision quicker but it could not be taken back.
âGuardians of Paradise!!!â Akart shouted as he raised his scale spear high.
The soldiers in formation behind him raised their weapons. Akart glared at the beings of the Abyss with blazing eyes.
âThose tainted by darknessâ!!!â
âReceive the judgment of light!!!â
Rumbleâ!!!
The army of light roared as they charged.
âRaaaaaaaaahhh!!!â
âFor the Great Akart!!!â
âO Great Akart!!! Grant us light that chases away the darkness!!! Grant us everlasting truth!!!â
âWho dares sully our paradise?!!â
The apostles wearing white uniforms stomped their feet as they clenched their golden scales.
âGRAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!â
The white tiger at the vanguard roared and the white knight spun his scale spear like a windmill.
Wriggle, wriggle.
The army of the Abyss sprouted their wings to face the army of light. Black mucus splattered everywhere and dyed the skies of paradise black.
Crunch!! Crack!!!
The armies collided.
âARRRGGGHHH!!!â
âDIE, FILTHY DEMONSâ!!!â
Light and darkness intermixed and bared their sharp teeth at each other.
[I-I have to g-go back.]
[Iâm scared, Iâm scared, Iâm scared, Iâm scared, Iâm scared, Iâm scared!!!]
[I donât want to be anywhere near that m-monster.]
The demons forcibly summoned from the Abyss mumbled in fear as they charged at the army of light. They were attacking the opposing army but their gazes, clearly those of fear, were focused on Kang-Woo behind them. They ran like gazelles running from a lion and attacked the army of light blocking their way.
Boom!! Crack!!! Crush!
The chilling sounds of slaughter filled the paradise along with the stench of blood.
âDidnât I tell you?â Kang-Woo smiled as he turned around to look at his shocked comrades and shrugged. âWeâre fine in terms of number.â
âI see⌠This is what you meant.â
Layla grabbed her forehead and sighed. She understood why Kang-Woo told her not to bring any Guardians members.
âHe has a point.â
Chaos would have ensued if they had brought many Guardians Players who barely knew anything about Kang-Woo.
âAs expected of hyung-nim. I knew you had something up your sleeve.â
Unlike the sighing Layla, Kim Si-Hun stared with sparkling eyes at the army of the Abyss battling the army of light.
âHehehe. Yeah, youâre the only one I can count on, Si-Hun.â
Si-Hun unsheathed his sword and muttered, âIn that case, I will take on that white knight.â
âDonât go by yourself. I donât know about the others but that knight and the Wikiholic probably shouldnât be taken lightly.â
Kang-Woo expected the Wikiholic to be Akartâs second retainer and the white knight to be the first.
âDarling, Yeon-Joo, Layla,â Kang-Woo called.
âYes, Kang-Woo?â
âI can more or less tell what youâre going to say. You want us to help Si-Hun beat the shit out of those guys, right?â
âLeave it to us.â
Kang-Woo smiled and nodded.
Yeon-Joo rolled up her sleeves and cracked her neck. âHehehe! Alright, wait right here. The four of us will tear them apart.â
âWeâll take care of them as soon as possible and come back to assist you,â Seol-Ah remarked.
âNo, you donât have to come back to me. You can take care of the other apostles too.â
Not only was it dangerous for them to interfere in his battle against Akart but it was also meaningless.
âAnd itâs not just the four of you,â Kang-Woo added.
âHuh? Youâre not suggesting Echidna and Lilith join us, are you?â
It was absurd to suggestâ Echidna and Lilithâs magic was effective in facing large numbers of weak enemies but they were a hindrance against a small number of elites.
âThese are the friends youâll be fighting with.â
Kang-Woo snapped his fingers.
[Ahhh, I-I am⌠the P-Prince of G-Greed, MamâŚmon.]
[E-Ehe⌠hehehe! Th-The Demonic Sea is⌠m-mine. I had it⌠first.]
[Waaaahhh⌠I-I am⌠wrathâŚ]
The princes of Hell, the powerful entities who once ruled the Nine Hells, were resurrected with the power of the Demonic Sea. There were supposed to be seven but only five were summoned since Kang-Woo had not devoured Asmodeus and Leviathan.
âBut it should be enough.â
Si-Hun, Seol-Ah, Yeon-Joo, Layla, and five immortal princes of Hell should be enough to face two of Akartâs retainers.
âYouâre in command, Si-Hun.â
âYes, hyung-nim.â
Si-Hun nodded and charged at the Wikiholic and the white knight slaughtering demons at the vanguard.
âRight, then.â
Kang-Woo turned around.
â...â Akart clenched his scale spear in silence.
âLooks like weâre both in our second phase.â
Kang-Woo stared at Akart with his black and yellow eyes and slowly spread out his arms.
âYouâŚâ Akart was about to say something but stopped himself and closed his eyes. He shook his head and raised his scale spear. âHuuu.â
He softly exhaled and drew out more of his true power. A massive wave of golden light surged.
âI will finish you quickly.â
The more time Akart took, the fewer souls he could save.
âI donât know, is that necessary?â Kang-Woo asked teasingly.
âI can do this all day.â
âEven if you do not want toâŚâ
Boomâ!!!
Akart stomped his foot.
âI will make it so that you will.â
Clink!
The golden scale shook and created spears of light that endlessly multiplied and soon filled the sky. The countless spears poured down like rainfall.
âTsk,â Kang-Woo clicked his tongue.
Even though he had unleashed the Abyss, it was dangerous to be pierced by the spears infused with the Primordial Light since he was made of the Demonic Sea.
âI canât use the Friend Shields either.â
All the demons he had summoned were facing the army of light.
âIn that caseâŚâ
Kang-Woo closed his eyes. There was one option.
âBut Iâd seriously rather not.â
However, he had no other choice. Nothing else would be more effective.
âHuuu, fuck me.â Kang-Woo crossed the arms he had spread out and chanted, âSummon Tentacles.â
Black tentacles made of demonic energy from the Abyss burst from the ground.
