The hundred-meter-tall walrus collided head-on with the enormous body that Vandalieu had created with a countless number of Demon King arms, legs, and jointed legs.
Toothwald, the Walrus Beast-king, grunted as he was stopped in his tracks. âI am the one being overpowered?!â
âThereâs a big difference in the number of legs we have, after all,â said Vandalieu.
By absorbing the fragments he had received from the dukes of the Orbaume Kingdom, he had become able to produce legs of the Demon King.
âAnd you lose points for lacking strength in your charge,â Vandalieu said.
By moving those countless legs and jointed legs, he pushed Toothwald back, away from the Jahan Duchyâs capital.
âW-where are you taking me?!â Toothwald demanded.
âI was thinking that we should get further away from the city, just in case,â Vandalieu replied.
âAre you that intent on separating me from Vida-sama?!â
Vandalieuâs main body was tiny from Toothwaldâs perspective, but at that moment, he felt a powerful pressure emanating from it. Despite being in a state of madness induced by the Demon King soul fragment embedded in him, Toothwald could not help but flinch.
âThis should do,â said Vandalieu, deciding that they were far away enough from the city. âNow then, I will remove the fragment of the Demon Kingâs soul.â
In order to remove the fragment of Guduranisâs soul from Toothwald, whose movements were dulled after flinching in fear, Vandalieu produced tentacles with suction cups. His target this time was an enormous male walrus rather than a goddess or a female Colossus, so he felt very at ease.
However, before Vandalieu could complete this task, Vafovald, the Evil Demon Elephant Beast-king, raised his trunk and charged at Vandalieu. âGet back, Toothwald!â
But Vandalieu remained calm and cast âImpact-Negating Barrier,â which removed all kinetic energy from Vafovaldâs mass.
âY-You stopped this attack from my trunk, which is praised to be powerful enough to break mountains?!â Vafovald exclaimed.
With its kinetic energy sapped from it, Vafovaldâs trunk drooped lifelessly. As the Beast-king stood there in astonishment, a thick tentacle⌠or rather, a trunk of the Demon King wrapped around him.
âYes, yes, Iâll be with you shortly,â Vandalieu said. âAnd you lose points for that. The owner of a trunk that can only attack likethatisnât qualified to become my stepfather, either.â
âY-you bastard! You intend to tear apart the bonds between myself and Vida-sama?!â Vafovald roared.
âNo, you can talk about those bonds with Vida herself later. But please stop chasing my mother around,â said Vandalieu, attempting to stop Vafovaldâs movements so that he could remove the soul fragment embedded within him.
Vafovald was only chasing Darcia around because the fragment of Guduranisâs soul infesting him had caused him to lose his sanity. In other words, this was the fault of Alda, the God of Law and Fate. Vafovald was not at fault here.
With a high-pitched, piercing screech, Byazekbyoct, the Evil God of Impure Light, rained beams of light down in Vandalieuâs direction â not caring about whether Toothwald or Vafovald were hit, of course.
ââGreat Radiance Bending Wall!â âLightning Cannon!ââ shouted Zadiris.
âI wonât let you interfere!â declared Basdia. ââDivine Severing!ââ
Zadirisâs Light Princess Magic refracted the corrupted light once more, while Basdiaâs axe cleaved the spheres that made up Byazekbyoctâs body, one after another.
âI wonât let you do as you please anymore!â said Darcia.
She had used âChaosâ to transform her legs and produce talons, and she was now using them to shred the spheres.
Zadiris, Basdia, and Darciaâs role was to hold Byazekbyoct back while Vandalieu absorbed the Demon King soul fragments from the two Beast-kings.
Byazekbyoct let out a noise that could be described as a scream, or perhaps a dull, piercing cry. But as one might expect of an evil god, he was not merely wailing in pain.
Blades of light appeared from the countless spheres that he was made of, and began attacking Basdia, Darcia and Zadiris. He had switched to melee combat, having seemed to have decided that attacking mainly with beams of light was disadvantageous for him.
ââRapid Reaction!â Those crude movements wonât work on us!â said Darcia.
Byazekbyoctâs movements were too slow for Darcia and Basdia. Darcia beat him with her transformation staff, while Basdia crushed the blades of light with her boots.
âTheywillwork on you, Mother, so fall back to where Van is!â Basdia warned Zadiris.
âIndeed. I will take you up on your offer and fall back!â said Zadiris.
Zadiris was not as proficient in melee combat; it would be difficult for her to evade all of the spheres with blades of light attached to them flying around at high speed while casting her spells. Thus, she fell back to where Vandalieu was as quickly as she could. This chapter was copied from novelping dot com without permission.
It wouldnât have been a problem if Darcia and Basdia were able to completely stop Byazekbyoct, but there were simply too many spheres. No matter how strong they were, they simply couldnât deal with all of them. And no matter how many spheres they broke, pierced, or cut apart, no matter how much Byazekbyoct screamed, the evil god showed no signs of weakening.
âCan you not see if he has a weak spot?â Basdia asked the split entity of Vandalieu that had descended upon her body.
She wanted to know if Byazekbyoct had a main body or core of some kind.
âI donât know. My main body is searching the Demon Kingâs Memories, but⌠Guduranis didnât really manage his subordinates that closely,â the split entity replied.
Vandalieu had absorbed the Demon Kingâs Memories, but it was made of the memories of a life-form from another world, who possessed different values and a different mind structure, recorded by sensory organs whose number, structure, and type were also different from those of humans.
It wasnât a document that was organized for others to easily understand, and Guduranis had not possessed the âPerfect Recordâ Skill that Vandalieu possessed now, so there were also things that Guduranis had forgotten. And it was Guduranisâs personal memories; he had not even bothered to remember things that were of no interest to him.
And it seemed that Guduranis did not have a detailed understanding of his subordinatesâ abilities or biology. He did remember details about his close aides that served as commanders, whose names were spoken of in legends. But he only remembered the names and a few characteristics of the more insignificant evil gods.
Of course, it was this structure of the Demon Kingâs army that had allowed the champion Zakkart to successfully convince Gufadgarn and Fidirg to change sides.
âI see. What about you, Darcia?â Basdia asked.
âI donât know, either. All of the balls look the same,â Darcia replied. Even with Vida descended upon her, her eyes could not tell the spheres apart. âEvery sphere has the same quantity of Vitality, and it doesnât look like theyâre trying to protect one in particular. Each ball might be part of a group that is known as Byazekbyoct⌠I think thatâs the kind of being that he is.â
There wasnât one sphere in particular that was controlling the others; they were moving as if they were a countless number of individual sphere-shaped organisms that made up a group known as Byazekbyoct. The evil god was originally from a race that was built like this.
Basdia frowned upon hearing Darciaâs explanation. âI see, so heâs the same as Van is now, then. Itâs troublesome to have an enemy that can do the same thing.â
âNo, heâs completely different from me. I have a main body, after all,â said the split entity of Vandalieu in disagreement.
Meanwhile, behind Basdia, Vafovald unleashed a shockwave with his trunk as he resisted Vandalieuâs attempt to restrain him. The shockwave struck Vandalieuâs main body, causing it to go flying as it fell to pieces.
âB-boy?!â Zadiris shouted in despair.
But a moment later, a part of a nearby Demon King arm transformed into a new Vandalieu.
âIâm over here, Zadiris. That was a Demon King Familiar that was my main body until just a second ago,â the newly-formed Vandalieu said.
Up until recently, he had been doing much trial-and-error to try and increase the number of main bodies he possessed, but this had ultimately been unsuccessful. Instead, he had become able to make his main body switch places with any of his split entities â his Demon King Familiars or body parts made with Demon King fragments.
Vandalieuâs Demon King Familiars and his split entities were him. With that being the case, Vandalieu had believed that it would be possible to turn a Demon King Familiar into his main body.
With further trial-and-error, he had succeeded in becoming able to switch places with parts made from Demon King fragments or his Demon King Familiars.
Naturally, he was able to do this with main-body-type Demon King Familiars, but even in cases where the Demon King Familiars had different forms or lacked the variety of fragments to create a human body, he was still able to transform them into a new main body.
If he wanted to, he could, at a momentâs notice, switch places with any of the small-animal-type Demon King Familiars in the cities, the Demon King Familiars guarding Hadros in the Jahan Duchyâs castle, the Demon King Familiars deployed in the Hartner Duchy, or the horse-type Demon King Familiar that Juliana was riding while fighting against Zobuberogia, the Evil God of Ruinous Greed.
Vandalieu had used this method â the method of having his main body switch places with Demon King Familiars all over the world â to move between locations as if teleporting.
And just now, he had switched his main bodyâs position with a body part made of Demon King fragments in order to evade Byazekbyoctâs beams of light⌠Strictly speaking, the evil godâs attacks had struck their target, but the amount of damage Vandalieu received from one of his countless arms being attacked was far, far less than the damage he would receive if his main body was attacked.
âI-I see. But is it alright for you to be here? Is there not another place where our allies are struggling?â asked Zadiris.
âThere is, but things have worked out so that I donât need to go there for now,â Vandalieu replied.
Rewinding time a littleâŚ
Dobopezepaluo, the Evil God of Cursed Poison, appeared in the skies over the Sauron Duchyâs capital. This event was sudden and unexpected, both to the people in the city and to Dobopezepaluo himself.
Where am I? Who undid my seal? Was it Guduranis-sama? But the world is still so unsightly,he thought.
The air was neither hot nor cold, and it lacked the stench of mold and fungus spores. The sky was not dark, but neither was it bright enough to burn flesh.
It was like a breeding farm created to allow weak, inferior organisms to live. And yet, these inferior organisms did not obediently allow themselves to be devoured. They formed groups and used tools to resist. It was truly repulsive and unsightly.
Unsightly⌠Unsightly! Unsightly! Unsightly! It is far too unsightly and corrupted to become our new beautiful home! I must purify it as quickly as possible!
Under ordinary circumstances, it was likely that Dobopezepaluo would have fled this place and looked for somewhere to hide, prioritizing understanding the circumstances he found himself in and ensuring his own safety first.
He had already been sealed away once before. In other words, he had been defeated by the championsâ army. Even if his seal had been undone, if he were to stay here, it was possible that the champions would notice that he had been released and gather to seal him away again. This chapter was copied from noveâlping.com without permission.
And yet, he was prioritizing contaminating the world with his own cursed poison. It was because of the sheer revulsion he felt towards the natural environment of the world of Lambda and how different it was from his ideal pleasant environment. And it was because of the fragment of Guduranisâs soul that had infested him, causing him to gradually lose his sanity.
If he were to proceed and spread his poison into his surroundings, the people of the Sauron Duchy at ground level would likely die helplessly.
But before Dobopezepaluo could begin doing so, a bizarre Elder Dragon appeared at the edge of his vision.
ââŚ? Who are you?â Dobopezepaluo asked.
Strangely, the Elder Dragon asked the same thing. âWhat are you?â
This Elder Dragon was Bakunawa, Vandalieuâs first-born child and son of Tiamat, the Mountain Queen Elder Dragon God. Upon smelling an unfamiliar, dangerous scent, he had flown over here from beyond the Ark Mountain Range.
The evil god resembled an upside-down octopus, with a head covered in barnacle-like shells and protuberances, and tentacles that possessed numerous eyes and mouths with irregular spacing between them. As Bakunawa looked at him, he instinctively sensed that this was a dangerous being.
He felt anger at the danger that this beingâs presence imposed upon his beloved elder sister, and he was filled with an overwhelming hunger.
âAre you a monster who has increased its Rank? Or are you an Elder Dragon who mutated after joining our side? No, it matters not. Help me purify this world,â Dobopezepaluo ordered.
âIâmdefinitelygoing to devour you!â Bakunawa declared.
Dobopezepaluo made an astonished noise as Bakunawa closed the distance between them in an instant, as if he had teleported. Bakunawa twisted his body in mid-air to unleash a powerful attack with his tail.
At that moment, cracks appeared in the evil godâs barnacle-like protuberances, spraying purple, venomous-looking blood into the air from his entire body surface. As his title suggested, Dobopezepaluoâs entire body was made of malicious poison and curses.
But before any of his blood or shell fragments could fall upon the ground, Bakunawa inhaled through the enormous mouth on his torso, consuming it all.
âAs I thought, delicious!â he said.
Dobopezepaluoâs countless eyes opened wide in astonishment.
Impossible! He is devouring me?! Is this the power of the âSkillsâ that the Demon King spoke of?!
Even in the world that Dobopezepaluo had originally come from, there had not been a single living creature who could remain unharmed after consuming a part of him. Guduranis, with his overwhelming power, had been Dobopezepaluoâs only natural enemy. And yet, in this hideous world, he had found a new natural enemy.
The moment he came to this realization, his mind was taken over by an unnatural anger. âCurse you! Devour me, you say?!â
Bakunawaâs tail attack had sent the evil god flying away from the city towards the Ark Mountain Range, but Dobopezepaluo forcibly stopped his body mid-air and secreted more cursed poison.
âDonât underestimate me! I am Dobopezepaluo, the Evil God of Cursed Poison! I am the evil god who rules over curses and poison! I do not know who you are, but if your confidence is based on a mere resistance Skill, you would be a fool to think that would be enough to resist my cursed poison!â
The barnacle-like protuberances produced a waterfall of poison so deadly that a single whiff would cause an ordinary personâs nasal tract and brain to rot away. It was a cursed poison designed to kill foes â far more vicious than the poison he released to âpurifyâ this world.
Even if someone possessed the âStatus Effect Immunityâ Skill, they would still die in an instant as the curse poisoned their body and mind. Even Bellwood and the other champions who had sealed Dobopezepaluo away had not come up with any strategy beyond using sheer power in order to purify the cursed poison with light and fire-attribute magic while fighting. And although they had succeeded in sealing away the evil god before they succumbed to the poison, they had not actually overcome the cursed poison itself.
But Dobopezepaluo was still oblivious.
âThis juice is delicioooous!â Bakunawa exclaimed as he chased after Dobopezepaluo, away from the skies above the Sauron Duchyâs capital.
With his mouth wide open, he continued sucking in and swallowing the cursed poison.
It had a rich, lung-burning, sickly-sweet aroma; a tongue-numbing fizziness that was stronger than Cola, and the texture of a rich smoothie.
âPapaâs more delicious, though,â Bakunawa added.
He was the first death-attribute Elder Dragon to be born in this world. He was the first child of the Demon King that was born in this world, the one who ruled over all causes of death â curses, poison, and disease.
Attempting to kill him with curses and poison was more foolish than trying to burn a Fire Dragon to death with flames.
âImpossible⌠even the champions could not remain unharmed after coming into contact with my cursed poison, but this Elder Dragon is swallowing it and calling it delicious?! S-such power and beautyâŚ!â Dobopezepaluo exclaimed.
Bakunawa was nullifying the cursed poison and continuously swallowing it, Dobopezepaluoâs chest (or rather, the part of his body that was equivalent to his chest) burned with respect for him. But that was quickly erased by a fierce anger.
âUnacceptable! I will not accept it! A being more powerful and beautiful than myself, more powerful and beautiful than Guduranis-sama, must not exist in this unsightly world!â
With that anger burning in him so that the âNarcissismâ within him would not be denied, the evil god produced more cursed poison just to keep Bakunawaâs mouth occupied while spewing additional, different kinds of poison from his heads that resembled octopus tentacles.
Venom Gusts and Venom Slimes, which were poison and curses that had turned into monsters, began appearing one after another. Of course, Dobopezepaluo did not expect these to defeat Bakunawa. However, judging from the fact that Bakunawa was trying to protect this land, he expected that creating monsters and making them cause damage would distract him and create an opening to make his counter-attack.
However, although the champions that Dobopezepaluo feared were not present in this land, there were numerous heroes.
